CLX96 and CLB65 make debuts at the world’s largest on-water show, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. CLX96 is a finalist in three categories of the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards, for Outstanding Exterior (Motor Yachts 24-39.9m), Best Interior Design (Motor Yachts 499GT and below) and Outstanding Lifestyle Feature with its Piazza del Sole. Our parent company Cheoy Lee continues to offer innovative solutions to the marine market with a 40m all-carbon-fiber catamaran ferry for up to 450 passengers, and a hybrid-propulsion catamaran passenger ferry.

All eyes are on CLB88, making its debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida. It is here that we announce CLX96, by Milan-based international designer Jozeph Forakis, which wins a GOOD DESIGN Award in the same year.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM FOR GOOD DESIGN
CL Yachts announces CLB88, created in collaboration with Milan-based international designer Jozeph Forakis. The flybridge motoryacht wins a GOOD DESIGN Award in the same year. We also receive a GOOD DESIGN Award for New Corporate Identity and Coordinated Branding and Visual Communications Program.
CL YACHTS IS LAUNCHED
To meet the demand for luxury yachts with our unique blend of technical excellence and innovation, the CL Yachts brand is unveiled to the world. The following February, CL Yachts makes its international debut at the Miami Boat Show, displaying CLA76 and CLB72.
ALPHA 76 TURNS HEADS
The newly debuted Alpha 76 Express model, with hull design from Michael Peters and interior design from Luiz de Basto, wins a World Yachts Trophy. It was dubbed ‘the most technologically advanced luxury sports yacht in its class’.
OUR SECOND EXPLORER IS DELIVERED
Cheoy Lee delivers its second Transoceanic Explorer, the MCC-designed 151’ (46m) Mazu, which was notably its 5,000th order since the 1940s.

Cheoy Lee takes home the prize for Best Asian Megayacht Builder (Over 100’) at the Asia Pacific Boating Awards.
MAKING TRANSOCEANIC WAVES
Cheoy Lee’s 147ft (44.8m) Ron Holland-designed, steel-hulled Transoceanic Explorer Marco Polo is delivered and wins the ShowBoats International Award for Best New Series over 40m the following year.

A NEW FACILITY BRINGS GREATER CAPACITY
Cheoy Lee expands production capacity at the new 12-hectare Hin Lee facility on the Pearl River in the mainland’s Zhuhai. The shipyard achieves ISO9001 certification in 2005 and ISO 45001 certification in 2019.

BREAKING A WORLD RECORD
Having spearheaded the application of GRP in watercraft, Cheoy Lee delivers the world’s largest molded fiberglass yacht, 130’ (40m) motoryacht Shango II, she was classed with Lloyd’s Register. She continues to cruise the world today and is now named Nataly.PIONEERING THE USE OF GRP
Cheoy Lee pioneers the use of fiberglass for vessel construction. Working alongside Lloyd’s Register classification society, we play a pivotal role in the development of GRP construction rules that are still used today.

Our parent company, Cheoy Lee, is founded by the Lo family at the Yiu Kee Shipyard in Shanghai. Four generations later, it continues to be run by their descendants with the same dedication, passion and spirit of innovation.
CL YACHTS WORLD TOUR CONTINUES
We announce CLX99, while CLB65 continues its world tour with a duo of appearances in Australia at the Sanctuary Cove and Sydney International Boat Shows. Cheoy Lee partners with universities in Hong Kong to develop alternative energy vessels and green materials alongside exploring new technologies to enhance its production process. Our parent company also delivers a pair of 40m all-carbon-fiber catamaran ferries with a capacity of 450 passengers each.
