CL Yachts announces new cruiser CLB80

Building on the success of the CLB88, CL Yachts has announced a new entry-level addition to its B series with the 24-metre CLB80. Presented during the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the composite yacht features design by Jozeph Forakis, a long-time collaborator of the Hong Kong-headquartered shipyard.

According to the yard, the cruiser is defined by “boomerang” fashion plates on the exterior and “unique stepped side windows” that allow plenty of natural light into the interior. Speaking at the event, Forakis said the yacht was designed to offer “easy, accessible luxury”. Martin Lo, director of Cheoy Lee, said the yacht was intended to offer safe and reliable extended passages at sea. “You spend a fortune buying a boat, you’re not supposed to be [at its mercy},” he said. “You want something reliable, you want to hop in and get going with peace of mind”.

Like her sisters in other series, the CLB80 will have a good proportion of exterior and interior spaces, as well as scope for customisation with layout changes available for the galley and helm stations. The standard galley aft configuration will allow for an “enhanced” dining experience that centres around an electrically operated up-down aft window that connects the interior and exterior with the galley.

Other smart solutions continue in the foredeck, where a forward-facing cocktail lounge has been set up with far-reaching views. The yacht also benefits from a sky deck with a barbecue and bar, plus options to add a crane that can hoist and secure tenders and toys.

Al fresco areas continue in the beach club which benefits from a TV, bar and configurable table that can be used as a coffee table, dining table or even a beach bed.

The minimalist interior of CLB80 is defined by “modular FRP pods” which play “a multifaceted role” by framing windows, integrating vanity desks and sofas, and framing the beds. Fluted oak panels and marble accents are also incorporated throughout.

The yacht is expected to enter constriction in Q2 of 2024.

Last year at FLIBS, CL Yachts made a splash with its flagship CLX96, which included a range of innovative features including a faux skylight.
