CL Yachts’ first CLX96 explorer launched

CL Yachts launched its first 29.26 metre CLX96 SAV explorer yacht.

Described by the builder as a “luxury performance SAV” (Sea Activity Vessel), the CLX96 features a RINA-classified FRP composite hull, and has a beam of 7.32 metres and draft of 1.62 metres.

Naval architecture comes courtesy of Earl Alfaro while Albert Horsmon is behind the structural engineering.

Interiors and exteriors have been penned by Milan-based designer Jozeph Forakis with “modern explorers” in mind.

Key features on board include a “sky deck” with al fresco dining aft and an expansive beach club with a hydraulic, submerging swim platform.

“It’s all coming together on CLX96 and it will be beautiful when the yacht is completed,” said CL Yachts Director Martin Lo. “The realisation of the designer’s vision is on track, and we are extremely proud of what is being achieved with our very first SAV.”

Elsewhere, the design has focused on maximising interior space, which includes accommodation for eight guests in four lower deck cabins, including a full beam owner’s stateroom and VIP. The yacht is also equipped with two crew cabins while the interior includes a mix of “classical, luxurious and modern” materials.

Power will come from twin Caterpillar C32 engines for a top speed of 27 knots and cruising speed of 22 knots.
