CL Yachts, the luxury performance division of Cheoy Lee Shipyards, has revealed new details about its first in-build 29.26 metre yacht CLX96.
Designed inside and out by Milan-based designer Jozeph Forakis for “modern explorers”, the CLX96 is set to debut at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Described by the builder as a “luxury performance SAV” (Sea Activity Vessel), the CLX96 has a beam of 7.32 metres and draft of 1.62 metres. Naval architecture comes courtesy of Earl Alfaro while Albert Horsmon is behind the structural engineering.
Speaking about the project, CL Yachts director Martin Lo said: “Before we began designing CLX96, we looked at the yachting experience with fresh eyes from the inside out – analysing everything from the habits of modern explorers at sea to our own heritage as a company.”
The result is a design that focuses on the “harmonious fluidity of space and movement that blurs the outside with the in”, the builder said.
Forakis added: “CLX96 was created to push the boundaries of innovation and yachting experiences, with flowing indoor and outdoor spaces, and enhanced marine capabilities.”
Elsewhere, the design has focused on maximising interior space, which includes accommodation for eight guests in four lower deck cabins, including a full beam owner’s stateroom and VIP. The yacht is also equipped with two crew cabins while the interior includes a mix of “classical, luxurious and modern” materials.
Power will come from twin Caterpillar C32 engines for a top speed of 27 knots and cruising speed of 22 knots.
