This New 80-Foot Yacht Has a BBQ Area That Doubles As a Cocktail Bar

CL Yachts just added another model to its best-selling B Series.

The sleek new 80-footer, known simply as the CLB80, sits midway between the line’s 88-foot flagship and two smaller models that measure 65 and 72 feet, respectively.

The newcomer, which made its official U.S. debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last week, was penned by award-winning designer Jozeph Forakis. The yacht has the Florida yard’s distinctive DNA but has more of a sleek, aerodynamic aesthetic than previous B models. One aspect that sets the 80 apart is its stepped side windows. The stylish fittings not only add a modern touch but also increase the amount of natural light in the living quarters.

CL also focused on enhancing onboard comfort, rather than prioritizing raw performance. To that end, the myriad layout options allow seafarers to choose between a forward or aft galley on the main deck and a single or double helm station. The interior itself exudes a minimalistic elegance, with fluted oak panels juxtaposing glossy marble accents.

The main deck is dedicated to a sprawling main salon with electrically operated up-down windows that create a seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces. Opting for an aft galley means that whoever is cooking can easily access guests in the indoor dining area or outdoor cockpit through the windows. The dining area is also equipped with an ingenious dining table that docks against the galley counter when not in use to free the space up for entertaining.

The lower deck houses all guest accommodation, with the full-beam owner’s suite situated amidship, the VIP positioned forward, and two guest cabins located aft. All four come with ensuites, naturally. The lower deck also features two crew cabins that are cleverly positioned between the engine room and the beach club.

Back on the main deck, the foredeck sports a luxurious sunbed that converts into a forward-facing cocktail lounge with prime ocean views. Similarly, the sky deck doubles as both a barbecue area and an outdoor bar. It is also equipped with a crane for lifting toys and tenders. (You can add a second helm station to the sky deck, too.)

Heading to the stern, the beach club is fitted with a transom door that can be opened or closed depending on how breezy or cozy you like it. Inside lies a galley, a TV, and an adjustable table that can be set at different heights for different occasions. Outside, the swim platform lets you jump straight into the sea.

Work on the inaugural CLB80 is expected to begin early next year.
