The first 29.5 metre CLX96 SAV (Sea Activity Vessel) has departed the CL Yachts facilities after her successful premiere event in Hong Kong.

She will now head to the USA via transport vessel, passing across the Pacific Ocean and through the Panama Canal bound for Fort Lauderdale.

The model has been specifically tailored for the US market, with a rugged profile penned by Milan-based designer Jozeph Forakis that “will no doubt appeal to American sensibilities”, according to the yard. The designer also helmed the yacht’s elegant interiors.

The model’s industrial exterior styling borrows design cues from workboats, with a two-level deckhouse and an inverted windshield that will enable her to tackle rough seas far better than a traditionally raked windshield.

She is also well-suited to warm Florida weather, with a design that minimises overhanging glass to reduce its susceptibility to the “greenhouse effect”.

Balancing speed and long-range performance, the CLX96 offers excellent interior volume, coupled with top speeds of between 24 and 25 knots at full speed and full load.

In terms of technical specifications, the yacht has a RINA-classified FRP composite hull, a beam of 7.32 metres and draft of 1.62 metres.

Key features on board include a “sky deck” with al fresco dining aft and an expansive beach club with a hydraulic, submerging swim platform.

Accommodation is for eight guests in four lower deck cabins, including a full-beam owner’s stateroom and VIP. The yacht is also equipped with two crew cabins while the interior includes a mix of “classical, luxurious and modern” materials.

The model will make its debut at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
