The first 29.26 metre CLX96 SAV explorer yacht by CL Yachts has successfully completed sea trials.

The explorer-style vessel, which first hit the water in Fort Lauderdale in December 2021, was able to reach a top speed of 25 knots at full load condition with weights simulating tender and owner’s gear and power supplied by twin Caterpillar C32 engines.

Described by the builder as a “luxury performance SAV” (Sea Activity Vessel), the CLX96 features a RINA-classified FRP composite hull and has a beam of 7.32 metres and draft of 1.62 metres.

Key features on board include a “sky deck” with al fresco dining aft and an expansive beach club with a hydraulic, submerging swim platform.

Interiors and exteriors have been penned by Milan-based designer Jozeph Forakis with “modern explorers” in mind. The design has focused on maximising interior space, which includes accommodation for eight guests in four lower deck cabins, including a full beam owner’s stateroom and VIP. The yacht is also equipped with two crew cabins while the interior includes a mix of “classical, luxurious and modern” materials.

CL Yachts’ director, Martin Lo, said: “Our captain reports that the boat handled well and was very responsive to the helm. We have ourselves a yacht that operates smoothly throughout her RPM range.”
