CL Yachts Launches New 88-foot Flagship Yacht
CL Yachts, the yacht division of legendary Hong Kong boat builder Cheoy Lee, announced this week the launch of its new 27-metre flagship CLB88 at the yard’s production facility in China.
The CLB88 features design by Jozeph Forakis, a product designer recruited by CL Yachts. She features a RINA-certified performance hull, with engineering by Gurit, the composite specialists, incorporating carbon fibre into the build.
“The exterior of CLB88 is designed to stimulate the collective memories and imagination of every yachting enthusiast,” said Forakis. “Her effortless beauty and balanced proportions are timeless, but her overall look is distinctly bold and contemporary. With the interior, pure sun light and open, flowing spaces are the primary ingredients, giving the feeling of being connected to the water and air.”
The CLB88 includes four large ensuite staterooms for equal comfort for all guests, a potential selling point for the charter market. An open layout and panoramic views create a great onboard atmosphere. The yacht also features a very large flybridge, equipped with a refrigerator, icemaker, outdoor grill and ample seating.
CL Yachts was established in 2018, marking a return to yacht building for Cheoy Lee, which built sailing yachts popular in Hong Kong during the 1960s and 70s. Though the yard become more focused on commercial boat building, Cheoy Lee built expedition yachts, most notably the 45-metre expedition yacht Marco Polo in 2006. The yard launched its Alpha 76 in 2011.
CL Yachts is to reveal details of a new 96-foot yacht shortly.
